Our family understands and agrees that, in making this application, we are agreeing that our children will: 1. Attend all scheduled rehearsals, arriving and being picked up on time. Absences must be excused in advance by the Directors. Please indicate conflicts in the field above. During the production you are expected to use our online production conflict calendar to note any additional absences - the link will be shared after the first rehearsal. In the event of an actor’s illness or other family emergency it is expected that a parent or guardian will call the Director to report the absence and if an actor is going to be more than 5 minutes late to a rehearsal they will call or text the director to let them know; 2. Memorize his/her/their part(s) according to the schedule provided. The memorizing deadline chart will be handed out in person at the first rehearsal and posted in our weekly newsletter. There are three deadlines, with parts to be learned split into three manageable chunks. When a deadline comes up we’ll arrange lines-running testing to make sure everyone is where they need to be. The metric for memorization is: no more than 5 paraphrases/3 cues per 100 lines. Failing the test means an actor has one more shot to pull it together within 7 days. Failing the second test will mean expulsion from the project. We share memorizing strategies and provide assistance with line-running. We will make time to run lines with actors in person or on the phone. We will also be happy to provide audio files for any scene an actor would like. It is up to actors to take advantage of these offers and get the work done. Again, we are here to help as much as an actor may need. The only way to fail at this is to not put in the effort.; 3. Act at all times with appropriate respect for and courtesy toward the Program, fellow participants, directors, volunteers, and any off-site performance hosts. This means refraining from disruptive behavior; rough-housing, exclusive behavior (inappropriate PDA or forming cliques), bullying, or behavior that puts another actor or property at risk of harm. Warnings will be issued in such cases to the actor and their family informed. After three warnings the actor will be asked to leave the production. The Crows have a zero tolerance policy regarding the use of illegal substances. Drug or alcohol consumption on our premises or at a performance venue will result in being expelled from the production; 4. Attend all dress rehearsals and performances for their cast (both performance days and backstage "tech" days. 5.We agree that UCSF has our permission to use photos or video of our actor on the UCSF Facebook page, on our website, and for the purpose of publicizing the production and UCSF in general.
