Dramatic Reading Performances for Crows of all Ages

Upstart Readers

The Upstart Crows started its dramatic reading group in 2017 and has performed annual readings of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol every December since with both youth and adult casts. Casts of three read from Dicken’s own performance script. Live performances include a Victorian tea service at intermission. Victorian Christmas music precedes and ends each “Stave” of the story. Period charm and increasingly relevant story for our times.

The Upstart Readers have performed at the Santa Fe Botanical Garden, UU Santa Fe, at the Kingston Residence, and Vista Grande Public Library. They have also performed the readings live on radio.

If you’d like to have a performance of Christmas Carol for your community group, send a message on the contact page.

If you would like to join the casts, rehearsals begin in October of each year.
